Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to common questions about fleet management and how asFleet.com helps.

What are the 4 pillars of fleet success?

A practical way to think about fleet success is through four pillars:

  • Reliability: preventative maintenance, downtime control, and fast issue resolution.
  • Cost control: fuel efficiency, expense tracking, and total cost of ownership visibility.
  • Compliance & safety: document expiry control, driver licensing, inspections, and audit readiness.
  • Operational efficiency: planning, utilization, trips/jobs tracking, and bulk operations.
What are the KPIs for fleet management?

KPIs depend on your fleet type, but common ones include:

  • Cost per km / mile and Total Cost of Ownership (TCO)
  • Fuel consumption (L/100km or MPG) and fuel cost trends
  • Maintenance cost per vehicle and maintenance compliance rate
  • Downtime hours and vehicle availability
  • Utilization (active days, trips per vehicle, km per day)
  • Incident / alert rate (overdue services, expiring documents)
  • Driver compliance (license expiry, assignment coverage)
What is meant by fleet management?
Fleet management is the process of running vehicles and drivers efficiently—covering maintenance, compliance, fuel, costs, dispatch/trips, safety, and performance reporting—to keep vehicles reliable and reduce operating cost.
What is the biggest challenge in fleet management?

Usually it’s keeping everything consistent: timely maintenance, complete records, compliance documents, and accurate cost/fuel data— especially as the fleet grows.

asFleet helps by centralizing maintenance schedules and records, document expiry alerts, fuel and expense tracking, and dashboards for daily decisions.

Who is the CEO of fleet management?

“Fleet management” is an industry and a business function—there isn’t a single CEO of fleet management.

If you meant the leadership of a specific company, please refer to that company’s official website or “About” page.

What features does asFleet.com include?

asFleet includes maintenance scheduling and records, fuel management, document management with expiry alerts, driver management, expense tracking, dashboards/analytics, vendor management, downtime tracking, trip/job tracking, bulk operations, and (plan-based) data export and API access.

We also offer UAE & RTA compliance (vehicle fields, RTA report, plate/RTA alerts), a Fleet Map with GPS integration (push locations via API), and a Reseller program with per-vehicle tiers and a profit calculator. See the Features page for details.

Availability depends on your subscription plan—see the Pricing page.

Can I export my data?
If your plan includes Data Export, you can export records (for example, maintenance records) to downloadable files. Exports are processed in the background and you’ll receive a notification when the file is ready.
Can I upgrade or downgrade my subscription?

Yes. You can change plans anytime by visiting the Pricing page while logged in.

  • Upgrade: You’ll get access to the higher plan’s features (like exports/API) once the new plan becomes active.
  • Downgrade: If the downgraded plan doesn’t include certain features, access to those features will be removed when the new plan becomes active.
  • Data: Your data remains in your account; feature access depends on your active plan.

If you need help switching plans or have billing questions, contact us via the Contact page.

Do you support API integrations?
Yes—if your plan includes API Access, you can generate an API key in the tenant panel and use the Swagger/OpenAPI documentation to integrate vehicles, maintenance records, and more. You can also push vehicle locations (GPS) via POST /api/v1/vehicles/{id}/location or bulk POST /api/v1/vehicle-locations so the Fleet Map shows live positions.
Does asFleet support UAE / RTA compliance?

Yes. You can store UAE vehicle fields (plate emirate e.g. DXB, plate expiry date, RTA inspection due date, chassis and engine numbers) in the UAE / RTA Compliance tab when editing a vehicle. The system creates alerts at 30 and 7 days before plate expiry and RTA inspection due.

The RTA Report (from Fleet → Vehicles → RTA Report) generates an audit-style report with plate, chassis, engine, expiry dates, and service history. You can switch to Arabic labels with ?lang=ar. The UAE Compliance Due widget on the Operations dashboard lists vehicles with upcoming plate or RTA due dates.

How does the Fleet Map and GPS work?

The Fleet Map (Fleet → Fleet Map) shows vehicles that have a last known position. Pins are colored by maintenance status: green (healthy), amber (warning), red (critical).

To get positions on the map, send location updates via the API using your API key: POST /api/v1/vehicles/{vehicle_id}/location with { "lat": 25.2, "lng": 55.27 }. For bulk updates use POST /api/v1/vehicle-locations. Any GPS provider (e.g. Flotilla, IOTee) can integrate this way—we don’t lock you to one provider.

Is there a reseller or white-label program?

Yes. Our Reseller Pricing page shows four per-vehicle tiers (Starter $4 to Unlimited $10/vehicle/month) and an interactive profit calculator: enter fleet size and your markup % to see your cost, suggested resale, and profit.

In the app, Dashboards → Reseller shows your plan, MRR, fleet size, and suggested resale at the applicable tier. Contact us via the Contact page to become a reseller.

How do alerts work?
asFleet creates alerts for things like expiring documents (insurance/registration/licenses) and other time-sensitive fleet tasks. Alerts appear in the dashboard and can also be delivered by email depending on your configuration.
Is my data secure?
We use access controls and security measures to protect your data. For details on what we collect and how we handle it, see our Privacy Policy.
